From the New York Post: Hollywood star Mel Gibson got home from talking to Joe Rogan about his anger at the Los Angeles wildfires to find his own Malibu home among those “completely toasted.”

“I was kind of ill at ease while we were talking because I knew my neighborhood was on fire, so I thought, ‘I wonder if my place is still there,’” the actor, 69, told NewsNation’s “Elizabeth Vargas Reports” late Thursday.

“But when I got home, sure enough, it wasn’t there.”

Gibson purchased the 6,578 sq ft house in 2008 for $11,500,000. He had briefly listed it for sale nearly six years ago, but later withdrew it from the market.

He admitted it was emotional to see his home reduced to ashes, but tried to stay upbeat, saying it’s just all stuff anyway.

“It was real, it was completely toasted. I’ve never seen such a complete burn. It’s like someone did it on purpose to really destroy every aspect of it.”

“But you know, hey, and that can all be replaced, these are only things, and the good news is that those in my family and those I love are all well and we’re all happy and healthy and out of harm’s way… that’s all I can care about, really,” he added.

“At least I don’t have any of those pesky plumbing problems anymore,” he joked. And, on the bright side, he said his chickens survived.

Below is a clip from Gibson’s interview with Rogan, released on Thursday. He was unaware his home was burning to the ground at that very moment.

A video is still on YouTube of the home when Gibson had temporary listed it for sale over five years ago.   Or CLICK HERE to view the photos on a Zillow listing.
