Just 10 days ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, and while wildfires have devastated Los Angeles this week, California Governor Gavin Newsom has now sent a letter to Trump inviting him to come out for a visit.

This comes after Newsom, a far-left Democrat, has repeatedly trashed Trump, and even lashed out this week when Trump criticized him for not doing more to prevent the wildfires in California, claiming Trump was spreading ‘misinformation.’

In October, ahead of the presidential election, Newsom spewed his hatred of Trump in an MSNBC interview, saying, “I said this from day one, he is weakness masquerading a strength. He’s a broken person. You are seeing that. He’s becoming increasingly this is remarkable to be able to say this because he is often graded on the curve, and he is increasingly acting deranged and unhinged.”

After Kamala Harris was defeated in the election, Newsom posted a veiled threat to Trump, writing on X, “California will seek to work with the incoming president — but let there be no mistake, we intend to stand with states across our nation to defend our Constitution and uphold the rule of law. Federalism is the cornerstone of our democracy. It’s the United STATES of America.”

In December, Newsom called a special legislative session, requesting to allocate $25 million for lawsuits against the incoming Trump administration, aiming to “Trump-proof” the state and thwart Trump’s plan to deport illegal aliens.

Now, facing a need for federal help due to the wildfires, Newsom sent a letter to Trump on Friday, inviting him to come tour the devastation left behind and meet with victims.

Sharing a copy of the letter, Newsom wrote, “.@realDonaldTrump, as you prepare to assume the presidency once more, I invite you to come to California. The hundreds of thousands of Americans – displaced from their homes and fearful for the future – deserve to see us all working together in their best interests, not politicizing a human tragedy and spreading disinformation from the sidelines.”

Newsom is being pounded on social media:

“Be careful bud, he might actually show up,” mocked podcast host Shawn Ryan.

Retired Army officer John Wheeler fired back at Newsom, “Criticism is not disinformation. Americans truly feel bad for the citizens of California. We are happy to help you rebuild. What we will not do, however, is not criticize the completely ridiculous policies you put in place and allow you to do it again.”
