I commented on this yesterday. Glad I had my bypass at DUMC in 1986, at age 31, when competency was front and center. Now with this DEI crap I probably would have died because people can’t seem to get to work on time. Not proud of Duke anymore!

Make up the rules as you go. If a black man was waiting for a white realtor to show him a house and he was 3 hours late. White guy would be a racist. YOU CANT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS
Not exactly the same but as the owner of an appointment based personal care business I don’t care what color you are: if you are habitually late for appointments that causes me stress and inconvenience to other clients who are black, white, Hispanic etc you’ll no longer be on the schedule. Common courtesy is color blind.
So if you’re a person of color you can show up whenever you want, leave whenever you want, take exams whenever or wherever you want etc… Are professors expected to be available 24/7 365? This is absolutely insane! Who is running this program?! I definitely wouldn’t want my doctor to be connected to this BS. Does this mean no one should make an appointment with their doctors, just show up and F*** everyone one else. Oh and yes let’s get rid of dress codes! Do they realize what they are saying about people of color?! How insulting! I’d be pissed. DEI is not helping anyone. So by their way of thinking schools or life should have no structure or rules because of the evil white man. Makes a lot of sense.

I also have a black family who is always super late and I finally just quit letting my daughter go to events with that family bc of their chronic lateness.
