We need a new rule. When Congress decides to stop pay checks of the American people, then they should also not get paid until it is settled. Any government shut down should effect Congress directly!
Unfortunately those who would be affected by this rule are the very ones who would vote to pass it so it’ll never happen. Make it a ballot question for the people to vote on??? We did that in MA 2 years ago and the people voted 72% to audit our state legislature but our government refuses to honor it.
