(IMO) Russia started this with one objective: conquer Ukraine. That objective has not yet been achieved and there really isn’t any incentive for them to stop. Sanctions don’t hurt much and with countries like India and China continuing to buy oil from Russia, they see no reason to stop trying to achieve their objective.
Also, I don’t see how the U.S. can continue supporting Ukraine with arms and weapons indefinitely. It will be at our own peril.
