He should be a national treasure! I don’t think the youth of today could do what his generation did or my dad’s generation. I’d even be skeptical about millennials too. What this gentleman speaks of can’t be taught. Our schools are failing miserably when it comes to American history and World history. Patriotism isn’t a bad thing!!!
Agree.
My grandpa served in Patton’s 3rd Army and survived D-Day, Battle of the Buldge, and much more as well as stumbling upon a concentration camp and liberating France. He had some great stories.
I thank Larson and all the other vets who are here and gone for their service.
Truly he is a part of the greatest generation… I have respect for all vet’s, but WWII vets were a special breed..
My dad and Grandfather served in WWII at the same time! Grandpa signed up and didn’t have to as he had a wife and family at home. He had also served in WWI as a very young man. His son, my father, served at the same time in WWII. Their paths crossed at some point and my Dad was required to salute his father (who entered the war as a commissioned officer). My Dad was in Normandy immediately following the invasion. My Dad also said that the heroes were the ones who never made it home.
Those WWII veterans were truly of the greatest generation! Sadly, our youth today have none of the qualities that the greatest generation has. College kids today are spoiled, self absorbed, and entitled. I wonder how many would take up arms and make such a sacrifice for their country and not expect something in return???? I’d love to be proven wrong!
The little brat punks are absolutely clueless why they can sit in mommy’s basement and play video games and do nothing patriotic no matter what history has taken place because they just don’t care. Bet they know how to carry signs, get tattooed, pierced and color their hair pink/purple. The future of this republic is definitely in serious trouble.
