They do need to raise the minimum wage. They just have to figure out what to raise it to. Nobody can live off of $7.25 an hour.
Minimum wage was never supposed to be a living wage. It was for young people, while living at home, to learn valuable skills so that they could move up the ladder and earn a living wage. Working at ex. McDonalds was never intended to be a long time gig. The wages were never intended to support a family of 4 and have a mortgage.
No way in hell. No way should any class of workers have their base wage more than doubled. These jobs are meant as entry level jobs. Can you imagine what this will do for inflation? Why can’t these Senators just simply sing from the same sheet of music? Like the Democrats do. This is why Republicans could lose the House again in 2026. Geez!! 😡🤬

If you can pay a lower wage as a smaller business isn’t it just making it harder for small businesses to grow and suddenly have to double their wage output.A good business will pay you according to your output. If some business does not they deserve to lose their employees.
You would have to do something about the greed factor regarding big corporations. Small businesses can’t afford it! Minimum wage wasn’t supposed to be long term employment! It was designed at entry level for young people to work part time and learn skills and be able to follow rules and regulations and become cooperative employees and get along with others. Because of demands that government has placed upon employers it’s becoming impossible to actually “own” your own business!! You can’t hire people you believe will be the best for your business and your customers! And that’s just one thing!! I’ve known people who closed up because of just that!!
