A tax on remittances should have been instituted a LONG time ago when they first started this program of sending remittances!!! Why should these people be able to come here and work and make money without having to pay ANY taxes on what they earned before sending their money out of the country??? As someone stated above, I also agree that E-verify should be initiated and should have been a LONG time ago!!! But since there are programs that DO allow migrants to come here on Agricultural Visa’s to pick crops in the summer and then go back home, (like we have here in N-ern Maine), then they should definitely have to pay a tax on money earned before sending it out of the country back home!!!
