  1. As an 16 yr old in 1984 this movie was an instant classic and made us all feel invisible and proud Americans while pumping our chests. Still watch it on occasion nowadays.

  2. Great movie and if we are not careful it will not be a movie but real life. If Harris wins this is what the country will become red dawn !!!

  3. Great movie!!!! I still have the DVD. Especially those are rural kids from high school are more knowledge about survival because their father, uncle, grandpa, or any relatives taught them. Now it is your turn to prepare your children. Do it now. Don’t wait.

  4. Red Dawn was a great movie makes you now think about what is happening today and how if we can’t get our s..t together it could be worse then what was implicated in the movie! I would also recommend you read Red Sky Morning by Jack Carr great book so relevant to what’s going on in our world today. Like Jack says the book is truly fiction
With a little bit of truth! If you watched terminal list on Amazon prime Jack Carr is the author of that book also!

  5. Red Dawn, I saw the movie when it came out and now have both versions, this is by far the better. I don’t know if you really got the movie. Seems like you were more interested in fluff and detail (watch the newer version) and became bored easily which is understandable since you are young and movies today are so different.
It was a bunch of kids who’s world is turned upside down, watching their families being destroyed and not knowing what to do. Having to grow up overnight and relying on their own wits to stay alive. A small country town , their fleeing to the mountains and reconciling with everything. It didn’t matter about the rest of the country or their personal backgrounds or any other details. It was strictly about this bunch of scared kids and fighting back for what has been done to their town and families. This wasn’t a big city like Orlando, it was a place where everyone knows each other and people rely on one another, it was being destroyed. They relied on each other without all the fancy weapons and electronics of today, they were just determined to fight back until the end.
As far as the ending it was just trying to show that even with war and all the hate and destruction one person may say it’s enough and show compassion.

  6. Saw the movie multiple times when it first came out and now have the DVD. Although it’s now somewhat dated, the basics of the storyline, with names and geographical locations changed, could be a current event. It’s timeless – a classic.
