Texas Governor Greg Abbott is ramping up Operation Lone Star resources at the Mexico border ahead of a major migration surge.
“Texas will continue to deploy every tool and strategy available under our historic border mission to protect and defend our state and our nation,” Governor Abbott posted on social media.
The governor vowed to continue the migrant bussing program, which has sent nearly 120,000 migrants to sanctuary cities like New York, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Denver, and Los Angeles since April 2022. Texas DPS spokesman Lt. Chris Olivares shared that troopers and National Guard soldiers under Operation Lone Star are conducting Mass Migration Response Exercises along the border as thousands of migrants enter southern Mexico seeking travel visas to reach the U.S. border.
Meanwhile, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker pledged to “do everything I can to protect our undocumented immigrants.” He believes Trump’s plans for mass deportation “looks like it may be unconstitutional.”
“We have attorneys general that are working on these kinds of issues within the courts,” the Illinois governor stated.
Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey pledged to protect illegal immigrants, stating on MSNBC that she would “absolutely not” assist the Trump administration’s anticipated mass deportation efforts, Fox News reported.
