I don’t see the big deal. McDonalds isn’t your babysitter.
I get that it may bring people in who can leave their kids in the play area while they sit and enjoy a soda or a cup of coffee but it is a luxury not a necessity.
I took my kids there when they were young, but we lived in a different time. Now we have such wussy kids and lamé parents that will sue for every bump their whining kids have, I wonder how it lasted this long.
stop feeding your kids garbage and cancer toxins!
There used to be play areas in Burger King also & that was in Toms River NJ a long time ago, but I’m pretty sure they have all been taken down due to those areas for kids for safety reasons or maybe covid crappola.
People think they are so entitled now day. McDs was restaurant only until the 70/80’s. Their food is crap. To attract more people they opened the play area. Now people expect it and when they don’t get it, they complain.
I wish McDs would go out of business…at the very least, clean up their disgusting food.
Play time and meal time should be separate. End of discussion period!!!
I was going to say, it must have to do with liability. And believe me, I’ve seen it + some little troublemakers become rude and mean to others. Lots of crying and upset parents. It could get ugly They should just do away w/it all together. The kids need to learn to sit, eat, talk to each other and practice manners. They don’t need to be entertained 24/7.
Mcdonalds is headed for bankruptcy, mark my words. When you take away everything people loved you for, it only spells doomsday. No one wants to pay out the ass for a garbage meal in a sterile box.
Not that I care, my kids are grown and we went to BurgerKing once in a blue moon couldnt afford it after thier Dad skipped on them. They loved the out door play ground. Now the food is crap , they want them fat and dumb.
Don’t let your kids eat that crap food….and take them to the park….
Yes parents can take their kids to play at a playground but that isn’t the meaning behind the photo of the play place. McDonald’s is the one who offered an outside play ground and now they offer inside video games. That’s the point
So I can agree with a couple of things here. The play areas are a choice of the franchise. Mc D’s ( corporate) do not require them. However if they are used they have to be under the Mc’s logo etc.
Yes their food is’nt great for you but in the winter time when I had two very active little boys who were getting cabin fever it was a nice respite when the playground was not an option. And truthfully we don’t make a steady diet of their food. So as long as you don’t get sick, I think an occasional trip to Mc ‘s is ok. And if you don’t think that. Don’t go. But the franchisee is not required to provide the play place nor do they have to provide specific toys. If you use them they are usually to just entertain while you have your coffee.
Nancy, I wish that they would get rid of the playgrounds at all locations.
