I think it was Steve Hilton that talked about the effect of tariffs. Say a product at port is $10. There’s a 25% tariff. So that product would then be sold wholesale at $12.50 instead of $10. It then goes to a retailer who will add 50% to their cost. So that $10 item originally would be sold for $15. The retailer can still make a profit by continuing to sell at $15 even though they now pay $12.50. Or take a 40% profit and sell for $17.50. So if profit margins are maintained, the final consumer cost will be higher but not exorbitant. It’s certainly not like during the Biden years when inflation was killing us.
What happened to companies and people putting their country above all others. Use to be people were the bottom line not the money.

I worked at Walmart for 12 years 8 of them as department manager the markup on most stuff was way more than they paid per item so even if they have to pay a little more they want go broke without raising prices.
Whatever happened to the price signs that keep falling meaning that prices keep falling what a joke didn’t last very long did it? By the way used to be you get 4 to 6 vegetable or flower plants for under four dollars now you get one plant under five dollars. What a rip off!
