There should never be a lottery system for immigration. There also should never have been a DEI preference. We have far too many illegals in this country, we do not need to bring in more untrained, uneducated illegals or immigrants to be a burden on society. They need to be deported and FAST!
However, there are jobs that we have failed as a country to provide education and opportunities for. There are some jobs where you cannot find a qualified US citizen. So bring in a legal immigrant, but they should NEVER be paid less than the citizen for that position. On top of that the employer should be responsible for that immigrant to be sure they maintain legal status, and pay a fee to bring them into the US. If the person no longer works for that company, then they should be deported.
