manufacturing all new vehicles for the usps is not good for the environment. extending the life of the existing ones is better. what, fill up the landfill w old ones and strip mine all new raw materials for new ones. dumb.
I’ve said for years that the USPS should be privatized! The asinine EV order is ignorant! The mail carriers don’t want them, many of them can’t even complete the assigned route on a charge.
Is hybrid veichles more exspencive then electric? I understand hybrid veichles. The waste our government allows should piss off every tax paying Americans
Other options:
1.Cancel the parcel delivery started by the cooperation with Amazon. Going back to only mail delivery will solve the massive lack of employment problem as they can do twice as many deliveries with the same amount of people they have now.
2.Go back to a normal retirement program like everyone else in the entire nation. Most people don’t understand the P.O. was forced to prefund every employees retirement on day one of their hire. The only business in the private or public sector to do this. It was done intentionally to put them out of business because they are the only government agency that was self funded with politicians not allowed to touch their profits. It was set up to intentionally fail.
I’m a retired Postal carrier. The post office has always been top heavy where some managers only job is justifying their own job. It should have been overhauled years ago.
My Grandfather and my Dad were both mail carriers. Now I know times have changed since my grandfather delivered mail horse back. My dad used his own vehicle. I realize times and population have changed, plus our way of purchasing on line. But I don’t see us needing to spend an incredible amount of money on EV. That’s just crazy!
Trump should privatize US postal Service and do it immediately. I’ve never understood why the post office delivers Amazon packages when they’re already losing money. Why are we supporting Jeff bezos? Electric vehicles are stupid idea to begin with and that order should be canceled on day one.
