Sure, they should be punished for what they did but, is it just me or does anyone else have zero sympathy for the weak minded who join these fake religions and cults? Screw them, too!
Sounds similar like what LRH did with his Org. YKIYK
He never got indicted nor his sucessors
The pastor of my church when I was growing up, bashed his wife unmercifully in the pulpit. It completely turns me off for church….this disgusting stuff does not surprise me, actually. And as much as I hate to say it….these victims want to belong somewhere. They seriously do not deserve our scorn. I was able to divorce myself….not everybody is that strong.
My question is were they forcing these people to vote a certain way?
“Recognizing Subtle Insistence
Subtle insistence in manipulation can manifest as:
Undermining Reality: Manipulators may insist that events did not happen or that the victim is overreacting, making them doubt their own experiences.
Inconsistent Actions: They may say supportive things but act in ways that contradict those words, creating confusion and self-doubt.
Guilt Induction: Manipulators often make victims feel guilty for expressing their needs or concerns, reinforcing the manipulator’s control.”
This is what happens to people who fall prey to people who use a religion as the catalyst. It has little to do with being weak minded. It’s a “subtle” manipulation. It can happen to almost anyone. Think of a huge organization that operates in the guise of religion, that is protected by the 1st amendment, I would say millions are involved. Most people see it for what it is, some have escaped but get harassed all the time, but the organization is protected under the first amendment. Can you think of one?
You can still have compassion for those who have been manipulated. Everyone wants to belong to something. Individuals that find vulnerability and exploit it are EVIL. We can condemn, shake our heads and not understand, but we must have compassion. Deprogramming can take years of therapy. Exposing the evil stops it from continuing.
Yes they should be prosecuted but are often protected under the 1st Amendment. Other things have to fall in place in order to prosecute. The US has several still operating all in the guise of religion.
