Would hate to have been driving behind the Autonomous Cars when they stalled. That could have caused a massive amount of accidents. Hope the car services have alit of insurance.

A few years ago, whenever the wind speed reached 15 mph, the power would get turned off (I live about 75 miles north of Sacramento). I have candles, multiple battery operated lights and finally bought a humongous generator that via a transfer box powers both my well and several house circuits . With my wood stove source of heat, I can also cook on top of it with a hot fire going. I’m in a Semi-rural area. I’ve got city friends who are literally “dead in the water” when the power is out. They have no clue how to survive even a few days without power, and really, no way to learn.
They probably don’t even know how to manually open their garage door or close it if it is open and needs to be brought down to lock it again.
