  1. Would hate to have been driving behind the Autonomous Cars when they stalled. That could have caused a massive amount of accidents. Hope the car services have alit of insurance.

    • A few years ago, whenever the wind speed reached 15 mph, the power would get turned off (I live about 75 miles north of Sacramento). I have candles, multiple battery operated lights and finally bought a humongous generator that via a transfer box powers both my well and several house circuits . With my wood stove source of heat, I can also cook on top of it with a hot fire going. I’m in a Semi-rural area. I’ve got city friends who are literally “dead in the water” when the power is out. They have no clue how to survive even a few days without power, and really, no way to learn.

      • They probably don’t even know how to manually open their garage door or close it if it is open and needs to be brought down to lock it again.
