  1. $75.00 an hour is huge. While I think an increase was needed that is a huge number. So, cheerleaders can make $75 an hour, fast food workers can make $20+ an hour, yet some people who work county or city jobs , which often require some college for entry level positions barely make $15 as a starting salary. The “worker bees” those who work in the clerical and some technical fields get a lousy 1-2% cost of living. In some cases it’s 2.5 maybe a one time 3% raise. Insanity. The job I held was physically and mentally demanding. You needed some college. Yet the county and city didn’t want to pay our worth. The union didn’t help either. We were not allowed to strike. But cheerleaders make $75 an hour. Ok. I guess it’s considered “entertainment” and we know that’s important. County and city workers everywhere get zilch. Many retire early or work well past 30+ years only to barely survive. I guess I’m jealous. I’m one who falls thru the cracks in the system. No one to fight for us. I’m retired, not by choice, but due to medical condition, a fixed income. It sucks because I don’t get disability. I should but I don’t. I know there are thousands of thousands like me. I’m not looking for free money. It just seems a bit warped. The whole system.
