I was there this summer. They have alot more to concern themselves with. Homeless hang out on streets and rude obnoxious people down on beaches. I truly thought I was vacationing in a south American Country.
We used to go to Virginia Beach back years ago and stopped after seeing the change of people there. Too many thugs for an average family to be around. They probably have bigger problems now besides some T-shirts?
There was an area here in Texas a few years back where a red light district developed one block back from our popular coastal city’s tourist area.
The city got rid of them by an aggressive campaign of policing the area, and issuing fines to any and all businesses that were found in violation of even the minutest of city codes. Slowly but surely the adult business began to shut their doors and move out of the area because the fines from the existing ordinance violations were not worth the bite it took out of their profits. The adult business were then rapidly replaced with tourists centered boutiques and restaurants. Today that former red light district is a clean and safe addition to our town’s tourism.
All it took was a concerted effort by the city council, the police, and the courts to take out the trash with laws already on the books. 📚

Hope every retailer who refuses to do as suggested goes broke.
