No comments? I agree with this Marine. There should have been accountability. We all know this was a big screw up. We saw the video where the suicide bomber was identified by a former Marine and could have eliminated him but was never given permission by the CO. I understand respect should be given to those in command, but they shouldn’t be beyond reproach. When they cause the deaths of many innocent Marines and civilians, there should be accountability. I think this Marine was unjustly punished. By telling the truth he pissed off those at the top.

Sir, as a retired Sailor, I congratulate you on your appointment!! I’m so glad to see you somewhat vindicated!! Those who ushered you out of your job and out of the Marines should be demoted and their jobs taken from them!! One of the things I observed in my time in the Navy (25 years) was how the unqualified were always promoted to the highest level of their incompetence over those who were more qualified!! Politics should never be a part of promotion but, sadly, it is and was all my career!! 1968 – 1992
