  1. You would think that they were college students with all the breaks they get. They need to attend to their full time JOBS, or maybe nor run for office in the first place.

  2. I voted yes.. But I think the real problem is that they get nothing done when they are in session… Everything seems to get pushed to the last minute then we get these bullshit omnibus bills filled with crap!

  3. They need a BIG CUT in Pay!! Our Founding Fathers only worked and got paid for the time they were in session. In 1815 they started getting paid 1500.00 a year, which is a equivalent of 31,000.00 dollars today. So in other words, Congress is way OVER PAID!!

  4. I voted unsure, because I think they have too much time off but maybe instead of weeks for holidays, they have 1 week or 7 days. And why a month all at one time? I got 2 weeks vacation when I worked full time, and usually only the one day for a holiday, and that differed because I was nurse. I know, congess is a different ballgame, and they were NEVER intended to be a job, like employment in a store, or business.
There needs to be changes. They need to be paid for their time. Or, lose vacation days. Or less income & have a housing allowance. Just some things I have tought about once in a while. And they should have age & term limits!

  5. No one needs to be in Washington anymore. They need to be in their districts working. They can have zoom meetings. Time off should be equivalent to regular jobs. Pay should be cut drastically. Benefits should be equivalent to regular jobs. No fancy expense accts. no huge staff. No fancy offices. Each person gets 1 regular staff car provided by the government. no BMW etc. Retirement is earned like regular government workers no guarantees for life. Definitely term limits. no traveling all over the world for fake conferences. That would cut a whole heck of a lot of waste right there.

  6. I voted unsure but only because most of the time they do nothing but if they do anything,it always screws Americans

  7. They get $174,500 a year salary, more if Speaker. PLUS $990,000 for their staff.
We should pay them a per diem like it used to be. No special health care, no retirement.

  8. They should only get paid when they work when they’re off they shouldn’t get paid isn’t that like for the rest of us if we don’t show up for work we don’t get paid. Only give them two or three weeks vacation time and the rest they don’t get paid for it

  9. Thanks to Pelosi. I recall twice, that she shortened the in session time. Speaker can change that if he wanted to for next calendar year.

  10. Too much time off sometimes I think it’s to get away from making the decisions That need to be made. Even when they’re working supposedly they have time off. You have a Republican Congress and a Republican Senate Make the common Sense decisions that the American people voted for. Get the jobs done and then take your recess.

  11. I’m not happy with some of the members of Congress.
But I think they are being controlled by who, I don’t know.
There’s an endless amount of corruption going on. We need to investigate it all and have term limits which should help to stop the corruption.
