Saying “we’ll take it one way or another” sounds too much like Shumers’s “we are sending democrats to Republican houses and telling them they better vote against Trump or else….” !! The only right way to do it is to gently convince them that it is in their best interest to join the USA!!
Yes I support it Greenland would be a lot better off and more safe. Russian ships Chinese-ships are patrolling those waterways. If they took over Greenland we would be screwed. Trump the USA is NOT going to invade Greenland.

I understand the importance of the waterways. Couldn’t we perhaps buy ports there and allow Greenland to keep it’s Sovereignty. We could protect our ports and waterway and dissuade China takeover?
I agree with a more diplomatic approach of convincing Greenland to allow a stronger U.S. presence in their country. Clearly, the saying “if you want peace, you must prepare for war” applies here. We can’t ignore the increased presence of China in this region.

In my humble opinion, bold speech tactics are not always productive. I think expressing an interest in a productive relationship with Greenland would have resulted in a warmer response from Greenlanders. We need them & they need us. The fact that China already has a foothold is worrisome. No one likes to be bullied but I fully support President Trump’s initiative.
Trump needs to tone it down a bit. This is no way to talk to a Ally. The United States has way to much to solve here in the States. He ran on Peace, ending Wars! He’s turning the whole World against us. Good to shows Strength. But, not Bullying!!
