WOW, use to live up the road in Port Allen across the Mississippi from Baton Rouge. Went a couple of different times back in the early to mid 90’s.
She ,,, this old plantation home taught us the history of that day. She didn’t stand for anything. Her existence now was and has been to the public as a museum for those times gone by.
And black folk are employed by the owners in this day and age. Even as your tour guides. Oak Alley use to be one in period costume.
