  1. We use to have more mental health facilities here in Southern California. They closed most of them. A large one in Costa Mesa, California is Fairview and they are trying to close this one as well. Many homeless here in California truly need these facilities reopened.

    • I agree with you. A lot of the homeless need the help to stay on meds, but the asylums need to be better regulated. Do not allow Drs or nurses to harm the people like they did in the past. The people were treated as trash in some places and experimented on in others. They were missed diagnosed and given electrical shock treatments. These are things that must not happen again.

      • You said exactly what I was going to say . In decades past the mistreatment was horrendous .One flew over the cuckoos nest illustrates that.

  2. First of all they need help and treatment forced on them is the only way. They cannot make rational nor reasonable decisions for themselves and our continued releasing of many with rap sheets 32 pages long harms everyone including the perpetrators. It’s way overdue, but oversight on these places must be in place. And we can probably handle the cost now that tariffs bring in millions plus we are no longer supporting USAID for African circumcisions.

  3. Maybe not call them insane asylums. Mental Health Institutions is better. And yes we need them. We do have people that would benefit. The problem lies in where on the spectrum of mental health do they fall? There are so many categories or levels of mental health. We don’t want any that will become abusive. Who will oversee them. We don’t need any Nurse Racheds. It’s a very tricky space and it could be exploited. There is a group of people referred to as DD, developmentally disabled, they not insane but need somewhere and someone to care for them when the family can’t. Would they qualify? Then of course you have the clinically diagnosed with true mental issues that are a danger to themselves and the public. It’s a huge undertaking but definitely needs attention. Some of it is illicit drugs causing the problem. Levels. We need them it’s just how to implement.

  4. We have two instances in Colorado that stand out: Monument, Colorado 2024: a mentally ill man with a drivers license ran over a woman and killed her in a McDonald’s parking lot and left the scene. After a few weeks, he was located and arrested—found to be mentally incompetent, and immediately released with his license still intact—COLORADO law protects his rights.
Denver: Charges against Solomon Galligan, a registered sex offender who attempted to kidnap a child from a school playground in Aurora, Colorado, were dismissed in August 2025 because he was found mentally incompetent to stand trial.

  5. There definitely are people that have complex mental health issues that need 1:1 attention by professionals in a safe and secure environment.
Living on the streets, addicted to drugs, getting physically harmed by others MUST END

  6. There are several forms of mental patients and some are dangerous and some are in need of someone to make sure their meds are correct and taken correctly! ADHD and bipolar are a mental health problem! The left are taking advantage of these people to do evil bidding in some instances and I totally believe this!they need to protected from people using them!

  7. Is there going to be enough space for all the Demonrat psychos and their woke, warped followers?
Pelosi and Waters would need a full floor to themselves with how much help they need.

  8. I think there should be two mental institutions in every state. My sister-in-law was a schizophrenic with bipolar and paranoid delusions, and she was quite safe in the hospital for a period of time, six times . She had four children and every time she got pregnant, she would flip out and go into a psychotic unrealistic personality, and she had to be kept in the hospital.. My brother would wake up to her standing over him with a butcher knife. Some people don’t mean to be like this. They’re just born that way it’s in their DNA. She got hers from her mother now she has passed it down to her son. it’s an unfortunate situation.

  9. ADHD, that is not a severe mental disability in any way shape or form, my daughter has ADHD. She works two jobs. She’s raised three boys. She takes care of her home. She runs her own business and she helps me every chance she has . you need to research your mental disabilities before you say anything about people with ADHD?

  10. The liberals need to be in an insane asylum but the only way they would go there if they were forced and you know that’s not going to happen
