From the New York PostThe best friend and roommate of suspected political assassin Vance Boelter said that he got a chilling final text message from the suspected killer saying he would soon be dead just hours after Saturday’s bloodbath, a report said.

David Carlson revealed that Boetler texted at about 6 a.m. Saturday, shortly after former Democratic state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were killed and Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were shot.

Boetler texted Carlson and a third friend that he would be dead shortly and that he loved them, local KARE reported.

“David and Ron, I love you guys. I made some choices, and you guys don’t know anything about this, but I’m going to be gone for a while. May be dead shortly, so I just want to let you know I love you guys both and I wish it hadn’t gone this way,” Carlson read from his phone while sitting on the front stoop, video showed.

“I don’t want to say anything more and implicate you in any way because you guys don’t know anything about this. But I love you guys and I’m sorry for all the trouble this has caused,” the message read.

Carlson, 59, who said he has been best friends with Boelter since he was about 12 years old, broke down while reading the last text message he received from Boelter.

After getting the text, he called police, as he was afraid Boelter might hurt himself, and said Boelter has been experiencing financial trouble and has struggled to find work.

Carlson also told reporters that Boelter had voted for President Trump.

PART 1. Carlson reads the last text message he received from Boelter.

PART 2. Carlson said he doesn’t know why Boelter did what he did.  “This is not Vance… I wish I could’ve been there to stop him,” he said.

PART 3. Carlson said Boelter’s so-called security company was more just a fantasy start-up that had never yet materialized. In regards to the two “police cars” that Boelter had, Carlson said Boelter planned to use those in his security company, once he got it going.

Carlson emphasized that he had no idea Boelter was even capable of such a horrendous act, and said he had just talked to him the night before, and never suspected a thing was wrong.

Carlson and others appear to be cleaning up the home after police broke into it earlier during their search.

PART 4.  A Fox9 reporter explained that Boelter rented a room in the home and stayed there a couple times a month when he was in town. He came back to the home about 6:00 a.m., after the shootings, where he apparently changed clothes, then left again.

After leaving, he sent the text to his two friends.

PART 5. A KARE 11 reporter said Carlson told them that Boelter had voted for President Trump and was a “strong supporter,” but said he was not aware of his leanings on state politics.
