  1. Very strange! Did they not have any children?? My second husband had dementia and I finally had to put him in a nursing facility equipped to properly care for him as I was not strong enough physically to deal with the nightmare of that disease. But even then I was in touch with my children daily. One daughter lived with us so she could assist me in caring for him. This just boggles my mind!! He was 95 for crying out loud!! Something is definitely off here!! May they rest in peace in the arms of Jesus.

  2. Good to know what happened even tho it’s very.bittersweet. I watched the news conference and would recommend listening to the coroner and the cdc expert if you can find it online. They said the dog would have a necropsy to come. Very sad but they are all together now. RIP

  3. Yesterday I listened to a Mr Ballen Meducsl Mystery story; can’t recall when it happened but think it was in the 1990s. It took place in northwest New Mexico on the Navajo Reservation. Was about sudden death from respiratory failure in otherwise healthy people. Turned out to be due to the Hanta virus spread by deer mouse urine and feces. The Navajo know that whenever there’s an extraordinary increase in rainfall, the deer mouse population increases and people die. Death comes rapidly; Ballen’s story had young (in their 20s) people dying between 24-48 hrs after they first felt unwell. One woman was talking in the morning, dead by afternoon.

I feel worse for that poor dog. Sounds like it had a procedure and had to be kept confined to heal. It died of dehydration and/or starvation, trapped in a crate that it couldn’t dig out of. A friend of 50 years passed away in early February. I hadn’t heard from him in 10 days, so had police do a wellness check. No response to their knock. I had a house key, so went to check and found my friend deceased. He had 4 cats and one little terrier dog. They were hungry, had been out of food for maybe 9 days, but a toilet lid was up; I suspect they were able to drink from there. If any of those animals had been in a crate, they would have suffered a horrible prolonged death.

  4. May they both rest in peace. I too questioned if there were any children or other family members.. Apparently not. I was in touch with my Mom and Dad almost every day even if only for 5 minutes in a phone call just checking on them. We would even meet them for dinner at little local places at least once a week. Strange that there was no family or siblings mentioned either. May they both rest in peace along with their precious dog.

  5. Poor Gene Hackman and wife. Was he even aware that she died? He had Alzheimer’s he may not have known. Very sad. May the both of them RIP. It still doesn’t explain why it took so long for someone to notice. I tend to agree with others, that something seems off.

  6. May they both rest in peace. I too questioned if there were any children or other family members and Mr. Hackman shared three children with his first wife. They remained out of the spotlight. I was in touch with my Mom and Dad every other day and my husband called his parents every week. May they both rest in peace along with their precious dog.

  7. OK explaining these two death. What killed the dog! So all they are doing is stating a bunch of B.S. that’s not how these people died!
