I think NYC deserves what it gets. We need to see first hand what this guy will do on a smaller scale. Trump will keep his thumb on him. First off, if the republicans thought Curtis Silwa would not make a good candidate to win as mayor, they should have picked someone else at the get go. Since they neglected to do that, they should have then put all their energy into helping him become a better candidate with handlers and advice and supported him with better endorsements and more of them. Silva also should have been better coached to not ruin his chances by publically turning against former supporters, ones who have a lot of power to make things more difficult for him.
