What is up with the rash of plane accidents and collisions lately? Is the deep state setting up a narrative to justify an even more high profile plane disaster? Makes me wonder, with all the threats coming from crazies all across the world.
Although I agree with “what is up” with all the aircraft accidents and incidents. a small bird can crack an aircraft windshield or even some ice pebbles blowing out of clouds due to a thunderstorm 3-5 miles away. Consider the high airspeed at which these aircraft travel and you realize what the force on that windshield would be. It could also have been a seal around the windshield. Then there is the issue of getting the part to the aircraft and the time it takes to get the part and mechanics there. At least the flight wasn’t at the halfway point between DCA and Munich Germany. There are two US Military bases, one at Reykjavik, and Keflavik, Iceland, and Pituffik (formerly Thule) Greenland and they may have aircraft mechanics and other types also. Hmmmm, maybe that is why President Trump wants Greenland. I worked International Flight Dispatch and know the airports along the way that could be used as alternates in case of emergency of a Military or commercial airliner. And yes, the aircraft had to return to DCA LOWER AND SLOWER to avoid more pressure against that windshield. Sure don’t want it to blow out inflight. That would suck everything out of the aircraft due to a rapid decompression. Even your seatbelt wouldn’t hold you in. There is that point in flight that is at the point of no return (to the original departure point). You must land at nearest suitable airport. Let’s face it margaret brennan, I am certain you are not well versed on the operation of a Military or Commercial airliner. You are only repeating what the Pilot was willing to tell you. The aircraft descended to 44,808 ft MSL. That is a FLIGHT LEVEL, NOT AN ALTITUDE. FFS, margaret doesn’t even have her facts straight. Altitudes are below 18,000 ft MSL, Flight Levels are above 18,000 ft MSL. News media nitpicks everything Trump and his Cabinet members do, I will also nitpick you in return margaret at CBS.
