Bg, I agree! Otherwise there would be planes crashing into each other all over the Midwest and elsewhere!! What about over the ocean!! Give me a break, Kash!!
Something fishy here. What does an aircraft have to do with this. Was there a gunman in it and the actual murderer was a patsy. The aircraft wasn’t over the ocean where there could be dead zones of Radar coverage. Being a Pilot I have never heard of a transponder not working over land in US airspace. However, there are dead transponder reports over the ocean. When a plane is far from land, the air traffic control system may lose radar coverage, leading to the aircraft being tracked by dead reckoning methods. This involves using the planned flight route and position reports from oceanic control centers to determine the aircraft’s position and altitude based on last position report along an Airway, winds aloft, and other factors. Additionally, ATC services are provided over the ocean, and position reports are generally done at least every hour to ensure aircraft separation. I actually hated flying International Routes thinking we were at least 2 hours from land once you reached a certain point traveling to European countries from the Eastern US. The Swiss and French Alps look beautiful from a distance but wouldn’t want to have an emergency at such a time. I will add this though, transponders are usually turned off when drugs and thugs are involved in transporting them. Remember the movie with Tom Cruise who turned from commercial pilot to drug thug smuggler pilot. It was based on a true story of a Pilot Barry Seal who flew commercial for TWA. He was murdered by the cartel after turning on them to become an informant for DEA. The cartel caught up with him.
This is the first I have heard of an aircraft over the site.
Accomplices are the Democraps period
Bullshit on the transponder.
