THIS IS SOOOOOO UTTERLY ABHORRENT #! MAKE FUNCTIONAL AFFORDABLE HOUSES#!! 2-3 BEDROOM, WITH A BASEMENT AND A GARAGE…$210K MAX#! GREED GREED GREED BY DEVELOPERS…ITS DISGRACEFUL#!!
Here in the greater Boston area land alone is so expensive that no developer will waste a house lot on a small affordable house. $210K may just buy the land in many cities & towns. Not acreage just a house lot. A 1950’s cape with 2 beds 1 bath with 1 car garage on a small lot in the Belmont suburb of Boston was listed at $1.3 million and sold fur $1.2 last summer. It’s crazy. Middle America is the only place that still has reasonable home prices. I’m sad for young people. Their future looks bleak but it’s all by design.
Blackrock bought up all the single family homes and condos across the nation creating huge increases in rental and housing costs. The government allowed this. The rich are destroying the country for the next generation. Does the government not understand they created this, they created COVID, they created the fraud. There is no accountability. The middle class does not have a chance. That leaves us with 2 parents working 40-60 hours a week, children are not eating dinner with Mom and Dad. It’s up to the schools to educate the children ans the parents work their asses off to stay afloat. For what. They are eating us alive. This is not where I thought I would be at 66 still working and knowing my dollar is not keeping up with inflation why?? We were never not taught in school about finance at all. The value of a dollar how to save it how to invest it. I left my money in the bank since 2008 when I lost what I had in the crash and Morgan Stanley told me I did not have enough money for them to continue to manage my account. I’m chasing my tail. Done. Our children are not going to have it easy.
All I can say is that in my area home assessments have gone crazy. Luckily my mortgage got paid off right before I retired 6 yrs ago. But it took sacrifices to do so. Had a 15 or mortgage…paid off in 12. It can be done. I agree home prices have skyrocketed. My home has doubled in 20 years. But it would sell tomorrow if it were on the market.
We screwed!!!
