Maybe because they were giving jobs to DEI people instead . I know some people that gave up because illegal’s took a lot of jobs and for less money.
It’s led by the fact the younger generation is only interested in computers. I witnessed this first hand for 3 years while working for Amazons Transportation Dept.
Probably many of the ones that have college debt is working under the table so as to not have to pay the debt. Bc if they aren’t working then they are on welfare how many men between that age group is on welfare do we have those stats?
A big factor in skilled trades is many employers have gotten accustomed to hiring illegal workers at a cheaper rate which brought down pay scales or kept them stagnant. Today’s wages are about the same as they were in the late 90’s and it’s hard to make a living off of this pay scale. Once the illegals are deported and the demand for highly skilled workers rises then the pay scale will go up again. Hopefully.

DEI would have nothing to do with it, right?

It’s because most don’t want to work. It’s too hard for them. They’re tired. There’s no ambition to succeed in a meaningless job. They want to be influencers, tic toc sensations, music singers… something that gives them money but not a lot of work.
