They may need to add a red safety switch guard for critical switching. Where the gaurd must be lifted then the switch activated or deactivated depending on necessity.
Or add a redundant step for both the pilot and co-pilot to verify the switches are in the on position prior the takeoff.
The air India flight went down because “MURPHY’s LAW,” was the gremlin in the cockpit, and it cause a lot of unnecessary hurt all around.

I’m curious then if these switches and apperantly both of the switches were turned off how could that happen if this wasn’t done on purpose?
