Not enough details here. Are we, the taxpayers, still footing the bill for their medical insurance? How many of these low-paid workers are on welfare too? Are the farmers and hospitality industries not paying minimum wage? (Maybe that’s why Americans don’t apply for those jobs.) Does getting a work permit mean they will pay taxes? Not happy about this. I worked in the horse racing industry in the early 80s. Immigration came through regularly and rounded up illegals and deported them. No protests no virtue crying. I worked the same exact jobs they did, only difference was I had taxes taken from my paycheck and they got cash. I’ve seen many jobs taken from citizens by illegals. Many good landscapers lost their business to ‘mow and blow’ illegals who under cut them. Many young construction workers unable to get work because illegals under cut them. Many high schoolers and young college kids unable to get summer jobs because illegals under cut them. Farmers and the hospitality industry can get visas for their workers. They won’t because then they would have to pay legal wages.

My cousin has acres of farm land. He has US citizens working with him.
Same with the farmers in our area. My grandsons work for farmers in our area and even raise show pigs without any illegals.
