A problem with “a local telephone company”? Is this a joke? What, did someone crash their car into a telephone pole? I don’t buy the excuse/reason. How does a “local telephone company” control radar capabilities at 2 major airports ? Did someone not contact USA before digging and their backhoe crunched into a buried phone line? Or was the airports’ computer systems hacked? Or were just so old and dilapidated that they just fizzled out?
I’m not buying it.
ATC offices do not have their own dedicated phone cables for their computer systems. Instead, they utilize general telecommunications equipment provided by their respective agencies, such as the Air Force or the General Services Administration (GSA). This means that the specific phone cables used in ATC offices are part of the broader telecommunications infrastructure that supports their operations. Those cables would be protected underground as most are in major cities the size of Dallas. The expanse of the telecommunications system is absolutely overwhelming. Sounds suspicious! Was this an attack?! Do we have no backup systems?
I think we are being conditioned for less air travel. Slowly so we don’t cause a fuss
