Seizures are often preceded by an unusual smell.

Maybe they were slain in the spirit like in the book of acts, chapter 2 when a bunch of people were accused of being drunk and they were very happy from the joy that was given to them from the Lord Jesus Christ blessing them with the Holy Spirit unspeakable joy 🤩
