From Fox News: Comedian Bill Maher marveled at the move by Scouting America, formerly The Boy Scouts of America (BSA), to change its name in an effort to be more inclusive. The HBO host called it “the kind of thing that gets Trump elected.”
“The Boy Scouts of America cannot be called Boy Scouts anymore because it’s exclusionary,” Maher said in a stunned tone on his “Real Time” show, Friday. “Like there isn’t a Girl Scouts? Like this is some kind of crime against nature. People are different.”
“It’s such an Onion headline,” Maher declared, referencing the satire website. “The whole f—ing country is such an Onion headline,” he reiterated.
The organization adopted the new name, Scouting America, on its 115th anniversary, “marking a pivotal moment in the organization’s journey,” according to a statement released in early February.
Blasting the name change decision, Maher declared, “This is the kind of thing that gets Trump elected. I’ve said it a million times here. Democrats, you lost a crazy contest to a crazy person.”

Boy Scouts of America, founded in 1910, has been going “woke” for the last few years, and started allowing girls to join the organization in 2018, all the name of “inclusivity.” This despite that there is also a Girl Scouts of the USA program for girls, which was founded in 1912.
In June 2024, Boy Scout leaders had the kids marching in a Seattle ‘pride’ parade.

Conservative host Todd Starnes wrote, “The Boy Scouts of America is officially dead. It’s now known as “Scouting America.” The group’s woke leadership says they wanted the new gender-neutral name to be more inclusive. Membership has plummeted from more than 4 million to barely 1 million. Many parents are enrolling their sons in @TrailLifeUSA.”

TrailLife USA, a Christian-based scouting program for boys, wrote, “Like #FocusontheFamily, #TrailLife believes—& social science confirms—that young boys thrive in single-sex spaces. Scouting America has taken that away, leaving boys without the clarity, mentorship, & brotherhood they need.”
