In her second interview since entering the race, Vice President Kamala Harris stated that the Biden-Harris administration’s policies are not suited for the “twenty-first century,” undermining her own record serving as Biden’s VP, according to a Breitbart News report.

While Harris must promote her administration’s achievements to validate her candidacy, the issue becomes justifying spiked crime, inflation, and border security without criticizing her administration’s policies as the catalysts for these issues.

In an interview with Brian Taff of Philadelphia’s Action News 6 ABC, following criticism for dodging questions during Tuesday’s debate, Harris emphasized her “fresh approach” and “new ideas” for the “current moment.”

“I wonder if there are one or two spots, policy areas or approaches where you would say I’m a different person [than Joe Biden]?” asked Taff.

“My approach is about new ideas, new policies that are directed at the current moment. And also, to be very honest with you, my focus is very much in what we need to do over the next ten twenty years to catch up to the twenty first century,” Harris replied. “I’m obviously not Joe Biden, and I offer a new generation of leadership.”

She pointed to areas where the Biden-Harris administration fell short, such as helping citizens achieve the American dream, adding:

“And so, for example, thinking about developing and creating an opportunity economy where it’s about investing in areas that really need a lot of work, and maybe focusing on again, the aspirations and the dreams, but also just recognizing that at this moment in time, some of the stuff we could take for granted years ago, we can’t take for granted anymore. For example, another plan that I have that is a new approach is to expand the child tax credit to $6,000 for young families for the first year of their child’s life, because that is obviously a very critical stage of development of a child, and a lot of young parents need the help to buy a car seat or a crib or clothes for their kids.”

When asked by Brian Taff how she would lower prices and make life more affordable, Kamala Harris repeated her debate response: “I grew up a middle-class kid,” avoiding the question. This claim is “mostly false,” as Harris had an affluent upbringing in Westmount, Canada, according to Breitbart News.
