WOKE FOLK: Country singer who defended transgender rights now teasing anti-ICE song

7

Country singer Zach Bryan is teasing a new song called ‘Bad News’ with sentiments that are anti-ICE while criticizing law enforcement in America, including controversial lyrics such as, “I’ve got some bad news/ The fading of the red, white, and blue.”

Bryan posted a relatively raw audio snippet over the weekend with an eight-word caption: “the fading of the red white and blue.”

Lyrics also included “ICE is gonna come bust down your door.” He then sings about children “all scared and all alone,” and then describes police officers as “cocky motherfuckers, ain’t they?

There is no indication of whether a finished version will be released, but you can listen to the song clip below.

Bryan’s interest in politics appears to have leaned left over the years. Recently, he posted, “The more a person includes politics in their life anywhere besides a ballot, the more I figure they don’t have anything more interesting to do or say.” He later deleted the post.

In 2023, he got into an online disagreement with country superstar Travis Tritt over transgender rights, with Bryan writing, “insulting transgender people is completely wrong because we live in a country where we can all just be who we want to be.”

In September, Bryan set a record for the largest ticketed single-concert event, performing for over 112,000 people at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor.
