From the New York Post: A leather-loving California state lawmaker — who is eyeing Nancy Pelosi’s House seat — rushed to the defense of a transgender wife-beater and dismissed the concerns of a woman he allegedly “humiliated” by repeatedly displaying his male genitalia in the women’s locker room of a Beverly Hills gym.
Tish Hyman, a Grammy-nominated musician who went viral after posting a shouting match with transgender woman Alexis Black after the incident at a Gold’s Gym, confronted state lawmaker and self-described “drag queen advocate” Scott Wiener at a town hall-style meeting.
“As a lesbian woman who was attacked in the women’s locker room at Gold’s Gym this week by a self-identifying trans woman with a documented history of domestic violence, I’m deeply concerned about women’s safety in female-only spaces,” she said from the front row just feet from Wiener.
“What would you say to women who are seeking assurance that their safety will be protected from men, who by California law, can self-identify as women in women-only spaces. Sir please tell me,” she pleaded.
The report points out that Black had been sentenced to a year in prison in 2022 in Ohio after pleading guilty to savagely beating his then-wife.
But Wiener, an openly gay man, and a Democrat state senator who is running for retiring Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s seat in the U.S. Congress, defiantly defended the transgender wife beater.
“We want everyone to be safe. And we also know that we have trans people, both men and women — who are men and women,” he stammered in response to Hyman, adding, “So trans women, are women.”

In response to a compliment on continuing to fight for women’s rights, Hyman wrote in another post on X, ” I really am 100% in this and I just want women to know I will not back down or stop. We collectively have the strength to win this TOGETHER!!! S/o all the women who have been here before me fighting. I’m honored to join the fight!”

Meanwhile, Wiener is post a video Monday, voicing his fury that 8 Democrat senators crossed the aisle and voted with Republicans to end the government shutdown.
“Democrats need to be willing to fight and stand up to this authoritarian regime, no matter how painful that may be,” he raged.
