Democrat Sen. Adam Schiff (Calif.) has been referred to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution over allegations of mortgage fraud, and President Donald Trump is weighing on the scandal.
Schiff has been accused of falsifying bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms.
Although he represents California, Schiff has reportedly lived in Maryland for over 20 years, and has allegedly claimed BOTH his Maryland home and a small California condo as his primary residences.
Trump posted a copy of a notarized affidavit Schiff signed in November 2011, claiming that the Maryland home was his principal residence.
“Adam Schiff is a THIEF! He should be prosecuted, just like they tried to prosecute me, and everyone else — The only difference is, WE WERE TOTALLY INNOCENT, IT WAS ALL A GIANT HOAX!” Trump wrote in fury.
Schiff was the lead impeachment manager against Trump in 2020, and also heavily promoted the now-debunked claim that Trump was guilty of “colluding with Russia” during the 2016 election.

In another fiery Truth Social post later on Sunday, Trump wrote:
Adam “Shifty” Schiff is in BIG TROUBLE! He falsified Loan Documents.
He once said my son would go to prison on a SCAM that Schiff, along with other Crooked Dems, illegally “manufactured” in order to stage an actual coup. My son did nothing wrong, knew nothing about the fictional story. It was an American Tragedy!
Now Shifty should pay the price of prison for a real crime, not one made up by the corrupt accusers!
