The Trump campaign fired back with a statement Tuesday night, after Joe Biden declared at an event in New Hampshire that he wanted to lock Trump up.

Biden was speaking at an Democratic campaign office on Tuesday. As he raged against Trump, he blurted out, “I know this sounds bizarre. It sounds like if I said this five years ago, you’d lock me up. We gotta lock him up.”

He then tried to correct himself, stammering, “politically, lock him up — lock him out, that’s what we’ve got to do.”

Karoline Leavitt, Trump Campaign National Press Secretary, released the following statement Tuesday night:

“Joe Biden just admitted the truth: he and Kamala’s plan all along has been to politically persecute their opponent President Trump because they can’t beat him fair and square. The Harris-Biden Admin is the real threat to democracy. We call on Kamala Harris to condemn Joe Biden’s disgraceful remark.”

Tech entrepreneur David Sacks laid it all out in epic fashion. He wrote:

Same day:

Obama: “I don’t understand how we got so toxic and just so divided and so bitter.”

Biden: “I know this sounds bizarre. I said it five years ago… We gotta lock him up.”

Democrats applaud.
