WHAM! Texas Gov. Abbott reacts to Harris campaign with fierce promise, reminders of Harris’s past comments on border resurface

After Joe Biden suspended his re-election campaign on Sunday and endorsed Kamala Harris, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, quickly fired back with a promise to take additional action on the border.

In March 2021, just two months after taking the Oval Office, Biden appointed Harris as the new “border czar.” Harris was tasked with trying to figure out the “root causes” of the fresh wave of illegal immigration to the U.S., especially from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

Harris has been lambasted ever since over her failure to visit the U.S. border.

“Joe Biden has now endorsed and fully supports his “Borders Czar” Kamala Harris to be the Democrat candidate for president. I think I will need to triple the border wall, razor wire barriers and National Guard on the border,” Abbott first wrote in a social media post Sunday afternoon.

Abbott commented on the now-viral video clip of Harris when she laughed off concerns about why she hadn’t even been to the border.

“You will see a lot of this. The “border czar” has been an utter failure. America’s future is bleak if the border czar becomes president,” Abbott wrote.

Not wasting any time, Abbott posted photos Monday morning, indicating he’s already following through on his promise to triple the razor wire.

“Operation Lone Star engineers in El Paso install triple strand razor wire along the border. Texas holds the line against illegal crossings,” he wrote.

Sunday afternoon, Abbott also posted a video of ongoing construction of a border wall on the Texas-Mexico border.

“More panels are being installed at the border wall in Maverick County. Texas’ historic border wall will do what the Biden Administration refuses to do: secure our border,” he wrote.

During a Democrat presidential debate when first running for president in the 2020 race, Harris raised her hand in favor of “decriminalizing” illegal border crossings, classifying it as a “civil” offense instead of a “criminal” offense.

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin also pointed to an April 2017 social media post by Harris, in which she claimed, “An undocumented immigrant is not a criminal.”
