From the Washington Examiner: Eric Trump warned that former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has no shot at defeating Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani in the New York City mayoral race if Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa remains in the contest.
Appearing Tuesday on Fox News’s America Reports, the president’s son said Sliwa’s refusal to exit the race would divide the anti-Mamdani vote and ensure a left-wing victory in November.
“Can Cuomo pull off victory if Sliwa is still in the race?” host Sandra Smith asked Trump.
“No, of course not,” Trump replied. “That’s why the New York Post, that’s why one of your own companies [referring to the fact that News Corp, which owns the New York Post, and Fox Corporation are both owned by the Murdoch family] is strongly encouraging him to get out of the race.”
Eric Trump emphasized that he’s not a huge fan of Cuomo, but said he would still be a much better than Mamdani.
“I love Republicans, but the problem is right now the guy’s polling at like 9%,” Eric explained. “I’m not saying I’m the biggest Cuomo fan — I’m against a lot of the things that Cuomo’s done — but at least he’s not trying to nationalize grocery stores, at least he’s not trying to raise taxes further in New York.”
“It breaks my heart. There’s no one in the world that loves New York City more than the Trump family, more than my father, more than me,” he continued. “I run buildings there every single day. It’s what I do. And again, all everybody is asking for is keep our city clean, keep our city safe, have reasonable tax policy, don’t be crazy, and New York will take care of itself.”

However, Sliwa insists he’s not about to drop out of the race for mayor of New York City, no matter how many people pressure him to do so.
“I love this city too much to hand it over to political insiders and special interests. The architect, Cuomo, and the apprentice, Mamdani, are one and the same. I’m the People’s Mayor, and we will win together on November 4th!” he insisted.
