From the New York Post: Wild new video shows the moment a crew of pint-sized perps — some of them linked to a violent migrant youth gang — ganged up on two NYPD cops in the heart of Times Square, police said.

The officers were trying to step in when they spotted the baby-faced brutes trying to rob a pair of youngsters Friday evening at the packed intersection of West 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue, law enforcement sources said.

As officers stepped in, they became the young mob’s new targets – crowding around them and trying to throw items at them, according to the clip obtained by The Post Tuesday.

Among the items thrown were an umbrella and a baseball, police said.

Those arrested so far in the melee include a 12-year-old reputed ringleader — with police saying the mob is linked to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua through its school-aged offshoot crew known as Diablos de la 42, or Devils of 42nd Street, the sources said.

In addition to the 12-year-old, two other boys, ages 16 and 17, were arrested, as well as 19-year-old Yeferxon Jose Mijares-Hernandez.

Every one of them, all illegal aliens from Venezuela, were later released without bond, the NY Post reports.

A fifth illegal alien boy, also 16 years old, was taken into custody, then questioned and released with no charges.

Fox News reporter Alexis McAdams posted a video of the wild melee, as the mob of illegal alien teens started brazenly attacking the NYPD officers, throwing glass bottles, a scooter and a basketball at them.

Independent photographer Viral News NYC (Leeroy Johnson) shared in one post on X that “NYPD Assistant Chief Savino stated they have been arrested over 240 times for crimes around NYC.”

Viral News NYC posted a video Sunday night, noting one of the young thugs had been moved to a “halfway house.”

But by Tuesday night, he added, “I saw him today hanging out with the rest of his fellow gang members. Multiple robberies, multiple grand larceny charges. Not a care in the world.”

Viral News NYC announced in another post:

Blue Beads & Emoji Codes: Are Crips and Venezuelan Gangs Joining Forces? Venezuelan gang members posed in a holding cell and added blue heart emojis and a blue handicap sign—symbols often linked to Crip culture.

Hotel staff say younger migrants have been seen wearing blue beads, raising concerns that TDA (Tren de Aragua) may be linking up with local gangs. Is this the start of a Crip-TDA alliance in NYC?

In a media briefing on Tuesday, NYC Mayor Eric Adams said, “It’s horrific enough to be a victim of a crime. But when someone openly assaults a police officer, you are attacking our symbol of safety, and it cannot be tolerated.”

Monday afternoon, NYC Mayor Eric Adams wrote, “Let’s be clear: we will NOT tolerate anyone attacking the symbol of public safety in our city. I’m thankful to our investigators for their quick work arresting these three individuals.”

“But we will not stop until each and every person involved in this attack is brought to justice. Our men and women in uniform should be able to do their job keeping New Yorkers safe without despicable behavior such as this happening to them,” Adams added.

While praising the arrests, he did not mention that they were then released.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced, “So far, we’ve apprehended five individuals connected to this incident. Three were arrested the next day, all repeat offenders, and all previously tied to citywide robbery patterns. A fourth turned himself in on Sunday, and just this morning we arrested a fifth, a 16-year-old recidivist. They face serious charges, including attempted felony assault, inciting a riot and reckless endangerment.”

“This is not low-level crime. It’s organized violence carried out by gang members that we’ve have already taken off the streets for preying on New Yorkers,” Tisch continued. “And now they’re back, ambushing cops in the middle of Times Square. It’s not a fluke. It’s a system failure. It’s what happens when repeat offenders are allowed to cycle through arrest after arrest without meaningful accountability. It’s what happens when there are no real consequences.”

According to Fox News, police have confirmed that the young illegal alien gang members have been linked to dozens of robberies in New York since 2022. However, each time they have been arrested, they have simply been released back onto the streets… just as they reportedly were after this incident.

In another head-shaking development, NY Daily News reporter Chris Sommerfeldt noted, “NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch acknowledges ICE agents were at a precinct in Manhattan after the arrests this past weekend of a group of migrant teens allegedly involved in an “attack” on officers. She says the NYPD didn’t cooperate with any civil detainees from the ICE agents.”
