From Fox News: Former Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone was briefly escorted out of a congressional hearing on former special counsel Jack Smith Thursday after a tense exchange with Ivan Raiklin, a one-time Army reservist and right-wing operative.

Raiklin called out to Fanone and introduced himself amid a packed House Judiciary Committee hearing room, prompting Fanone to turn around and say, “Go f— yourself. … Don’t pretend like we’re not mortal enemies.”

The confrontation, which occurred during a recess, escalated to a near-physical altercation, as Fanone repeatedly lobbed obscenities at Raiklin and Raiklin told Fanone to “control his Tourette syndrome.”

Fanone was among four U.S. Capitol and D.C. police officers seated behind Smith during the hearing, which centered on Smith’s two prosecutions of President Donald Trump related to the 2020 election and classified documents. The police officers were among those who responded to the Jan. 6 Capitol breach, which stemmed from a protest against the 2020 election results.

Fanone was one of several officers who had testified before the January 6 Committee, and was allegedly injured during the January 6 Capitol protest. He retired in 2021 after 20 years on the police force.

According to multiple reports, the heated confrontation started when Raiklin reached out offering to shake Fanone’s hand. Fanone then erupted in a profanity-filled rant.

“This guy has threatened my family, threatened my children. Threatened to rape my children … you sick bastard!” Fanone yelled.

Raiklin said, “Why do you have to lose your cool like that?”

It took four officers to hold Fanone back from attacking Raiklin. While being escorted out, he snapped at a female officer, “Don’t touch me!”

Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) banged his gavel and called the hearing to order. Ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) sneered, “Mr. Chairman, please control the deranged observer Mr. Raiklin so he doesn’t create any other problems today.”

Videos of the wild exchange are circulating on social media:

Later Raiklin posted a video and asked, “Who thinks I should sue Mr. Fanone for defamation?”

RedState reporter R.C. Maxwell wrote, “This could be the most clear cut of example of defamation ever recorded. @IvanRaiklin should sue. A highly false and highly damaging claim of criminal sexual conduct toward children that Fanone screamed in front of witnesses and cameras to maliciously and falsely portray him as a child predator to score political points and appear more virtuous in a heated ideological clash.”

At some point, Fanone returned to the room, and then coughed into his hands and appeared to say, “Go f— yourself,” as Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas) spoke.

Investigative journalist Lara Logan wrote, “Michael Fanone is a liar who testified that he was injured & was seen in footage wandering around just fine after the alleged injury. Mr Crocodile tears. He knows the false narrative is coming apart.”

One journalist questioned Fanone as he was leaving, and asked him why he turned off his body camera on January 6. He exploded on her in another profane comment.
