One thing is clear: Former President Donald Trump’s 2024 running mate is not one bit afraid to speak to the media.
Sen. J.D. Vance has appeared at multiple campaign events in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin so far this week. At each appearance, Vance has spoken briefly, then turned the microphone over to local leaders, before returning to the microphone to answer questions from reporters.
There has not been one stumble, and Vance has not hesitated to respond to each question. He has done so with confidence, authority and leadership. His remarks have also been different at each stop.
Vance went to Philadelphia Tuesday, then traveled to Detroit, Michigan and Eau Claire, Wisconsin on Wednesday. He’s following Kamala Harris everywhere she goes, as she hits the campaign trail with her new running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
Vance’s plane landed in Wisconsin minutes after Harris, and he boldly walked across the tarmac to speak to the reporters who were following Harris, joking that he wanted to check out the plane that may be his some day.
Vance then delivered remarks at an event held at the Eau Claire, Wisconsin airport.

Harris supporters are gleefully pointing out the difference in the size of the crowds, as Harris and Vance both hold events in the same city on the same day:
Since Donald loves to talk about crowd sizes, let’s talk about them.
JD Vance’s crowd size is on the left.
Kamala Harris and Tim Walz’ rally is on the right.
Both were held in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
