Republican vice president nominee Sen. JD Vance spoke at a campaign event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, just hours after Democrat Kamala Harris announced that she has chosen Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate.
Setting an energetic, patriotic theme, Vance came on stage to the song, “America First,” by Merle Haggard.
He immediately introduced multiple speakers who have been “affected by Kamala Harris’s disastrous policies.”
“Everywhere she goes, chaos follows,” Vance declared, putting all his focus on Harris. He slammed Harris over her failed border policies, including her proposing amnesty for millions of illegal aliens.
Vance didn’t give much attention to Walz during his speech, but when asked, he delivered a fiery response.
“This is a guy who when rioters were burning down the biggest city in Minnesota was actively cheering them on. You think the black and working class business leaders in Minneapolis are grateful that Tim Walz allowed rioters to burn down their business?” he demanded.

Reporters hit Vance about his “cat lady” comment, made years ago before he ever even ran for Senate. The reporter claimed that Vance’s remarks on families were “offensive to millions of women.”
He fired back with a powerful rebuttal: “What I said is very simple: I think American families are good and government policy should be more pro-family. If the media wants to get offended about a sarcastic remark I made before I even ran for the Senate, then the media is entitled to get offended. You know what I’m offended by? That normal Americans can’t afford groceries, that Kamala Harris opened up the American southern border, and I’m offended that she wants to be the people’s president but cannot answer tough questions.”

Ahead of the event, Vance spoke to reporters while aboard his plane, and also called them out for now holding Harris’s feet to the fire and forcing her to answer questions.
“One final observation,” he told reporters. “I know most of you, I like all of you as people, or at least I like the ones I know. I think you guys have got to do a better job at actually forcing Kamala Harris to answer questions. This is a person who has been a presumptive Democrat nominee for 16 days. She hasn’t taken a single real question from a reporter. The American people deserve to get to know the people who want to lead them, and I think it’s shameful for Kamala Harris, but increasingly for the media, that she is taking a basement strategy of running from reporters instead of getting in front of them and answering tough questions about her record and letting the American people know who she is.”
