The feud between billionaire Elon Musk and President Donald Trump is showing signs of cooling off.

Musk, whose 130-day allotted term heading up the Department of Government Efficiency ended on May 31, went rogue just two days later, coming out in fierce opposition to the funding bill Trump is trying to get pushed through Congress. That started a war of words in which Musk crossed the line with some personal attacks against Trump which appear to have ended the strong friendship between the two.

However, both men are showing regret for the explosive way their alliance ended.

During a business roundtable at the White House on Monday, President Trump was asked about the rumor that Musk was using drugs, and said he doesn’t believe so.

“Do you think he ever had drugs here at the White House?” Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked the president.

“I really don’t know. I don’t think so. I hope not,” Trump said, adding, “Look, I wish him well… we had a good relationship and I just wish him well… very well, actually.”

Musk responded to the video, writing, “You can tell immediately that someone is a massive liar if they’re claiming I’m on drugs, as I am one of the most photographed people on Earth and am in meetings with a wide array of people 7 days a week!

“Moreover, I was randomly drug tested for ~3 years after one semi-puff on @JoeRogan. Not the slightest trace of drugs or alcohol was found.”

Musk also reacted to another longer video of Trump’s remarks. A reporter asked Trump if he planned to get rid of the Tesla car he bought from Musk. Trump denied any plans to get rid of the car, but said he might move it to one of his other properties.

Doocy then asked about the rumors that Musk got into a physical altercation with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Trump noted that the two did have an argument, but said he didn’t see any physical fight.

Trump then said he didn’t believe Musk had drugs at the White House and added, “We had a great relationship and I wish him well — very well, actually.”

Musk responded by posting a simple heart emoji.
