After touring devastated areas of both western North Carolina and Los Angeles, California on Friday, President Donald Tump traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he will be holding a rally Saturday afternoon.
Nevada has typically voted for Democrats for the past two decades, but the state flipped to support Trump in the November election.
“I’m going to Nevada, and I’m really going to thank Nevada for the vote because we won Nevada. That’s normally a Democratic vote and I just want to go there to thank Nevada for the vote,” Trump said earlier this week.
Trump is scheduled to speak in Las Vegas at the Circa Resort & Casino. His remarks are scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m. local time, (3:30 pm ET.)
His speech is expected to focus on one of his key campaign promises: No taxes on tips. He first unveiled the proposal during a campaign rally in Las Vegas back in June of last year.
First Lady Melania Trump accompanied the President for the cross-country trip on Friday, as they left the White House Friday morning and first flew to Asheville, North Carolina, to meet with residents impacted by the devastating storms four months ago. Trump vowed to do the job Joe Biden failed to do, and get the state cleaned up and back on its feet.
They then flew to Los Angeles, California, where the President and First Lady toured the ares of the city that have been demolished by the recent wildfires, and held a roundtable discussion with local leaders.
Late Friday night, Trump arrived in Las Vegas, where he reportedly stayed at a hotel he owns, the Trump International Hotel.
