President Donald Trump welcomed the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, to the White House Monday, as discussions continue about negotiating a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.

Macron first arrived Monday morning to attend a virtual G7 conference with Trump and Vice President JD Vance in the Oval Office. Others participating in the virtual discussion were Ukrainian President Volodymyr, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa, who were all together in Kyiv.

After the virtual meeting, Macron left the White House briefly, then returned later for additional discussions with President Trump.

The two held two press briefings, one in the Oval Office, where they responded to multiple questions from reporters, and another more formal joint press briefing after lunch.

In the Oval Office, Trump and Macron were joined by other officials including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Below is a video of the Oval Office press briefing.
