For the past four years, Joe Biden has evaded the press at every turn, hardly ever holding a press briefing, and repeatedly ignoring reporters’ questions.

On Monday, just 35 days ahead of his inauguration, President-elect Donald Trump held a one-hour press briefing at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, made some big announcements, took questions from reporters, and provided real answers.

Joining Trump for the press briefing were Trump’s Commerce Secretary nominee Howard Lutnick, head of investment bank Cantor Fitzgerald, and SoftBank Group CEO Masayoshi Son. SoftBank is a Japanese internet and telecommunications company.

Trump and Son announced that SoftBank is planning to invest at least $100 billion in U.S. projects over the next four years, which will create 100,000 jobs focused on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

The Wall Street Journal noted that last week, Trump announced that any company who invests $1 billion or more in the United States would receive fast-track permitting.

“My confidence to the economy of the United States has tremendously increased because of his victory. Because of that, I am excited to commit this $100B and 100,000 jobs,” Son announced.

“This historic investment is a monumental demonstration of confidence in America’s future, and it will help ensure that artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and other industries of tomorrow are built, created and grown right here in the U.S.A.,” Trump said.

During the press briefing, the Art of the Deal played out in real time, as Trump jokingly said, “I’m gonna ask him right now. Would you make it $200 billion instead of $100 billion?… Would you do that?”

Son laughed, and then said, “I will try to make to make it happen. He is a great negotiator!”

Trump announced that bold reforms are coming, and job-killing regulations are going!

“Starting on day one, we will implement a rapid series of bold reforms to restore our nation to full prosperity… Preparations are underway to slash massive job killing regulations, eliminating 10 old regulations for every new one.”

“I will keep my promise to pass historic tax cuts for American families, workers, and businesses that create jobs in America,” Trump vowed.

Trump commented on the new agency he is creating, Department of Government Efficiency, which will be led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy.

“They are finding things you wouldn’t even believe,” he said.

A reporter asked Trump if he wants RFK Jr. to revoke any vaccines. Trump has nominated Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to serve as the Health and Human Services Secretary.

“I think you’re going to find that Bobby is a very rational guy… You’re not going to lose the Polio vaccine. That’s not going to happen,” Trump said.

Watch:

Trump was asked about the wave of drones buzzing over New Jersey.

“The government knows what is happening,” Trump declared, adding, “Our military know where they took off from… and for some reason they don’t want to comment. I think they’d be better off saying what it is. Our military knows and our president knows, and for some reason, they want to keep people in suspense.”

“Something strange is going on and for some reason they don’t want to tell the people,” he said.

Another reporter asked Trump if he expects Florida governor Ran DeSantis to appoint Lara Trump to the U.S. Senate, to fill Sen. Marco Rubio’s seat, should he be confirmed as Secretary of State.

Trump said he actually does NOT expect his daughter-in-law to be appointed to the position, and added, “Ron’s doing a good job, that’s his choice – nothing to do with me.”

“Ron is gonna have to make that decision – and he’ll make the right decision …. ,” Trump said, noting that Lara has many options.

Trump was asked if he would consider pardoning New York City mayor Eric Adams.

“Yeah, I would. I think he was treated pretty unfairly,” Trump said.

Trump also spoke about the assassination of United Healthcare CEO, and voiced his disgust that some people are cheering for the killer.

“I think it’s really terrible that some people seem to admire him… That was a terrible thing. It was cold-blooded… and how people can like this guy — that’s a sickness,” he said.

Trump indicated he may block the ban on TikTok.

Trump blasted the Biden administration for selling off his border wall, and said some people have been buying the wall materials for pennies, then calling him offering to sell it back to him for exorbitant prices.

Venezuela has refused to take back their deported citizens, but Trump said, “They’ll take them back. They’re all taking them back. And if they don’t, they’ll be met very harshly economically.”

Trump warned Canada and Mexico are “on notice” to halt ALL flows of illegals and drugs.

“We’re subsidizing them. That can’t go on. Why are we supporting and giving other countries hundreds of billions of dollars? It’s not fair,” he said.

Trump scolded a reporter who asked him, “Would you preemptively strike Iran’s nuclear facilities?”

“Am I gonna do preemptive strikes? Why would I say that? Can you imagine if I said ‘yes’ or ‘no?’ … Is that a serious question? How could I answer?” he retorted.

“Would you support Israel doing it?” the reporter pressed.

“How could I tell you a thing like that now? You don’t talk about that before something may or may not happen. I don’t want to insult you, it’s just not something I would ever answer,” he fired back, quietly but firmly.

Trump was asked about his threat that there will be “hell to pay” if Hamas doesn’t release the rest of the hostages prior to his inauguration.

“Well, they’re gonna have to determine what that means. But – it means it won’t be pleasant… it’s not going to be pleasant,” Trump declared.

Trump and Lutnick were asked about their trade policy on China.

“They tax us? We tax them. And they tax us – and we haven’t been taxing them… We’re gonna make great deals. We have all the cards,” Trump said.

“Should senators be primaried if they oppose your nominees?” a reporter asked.

“If they are unreasonable, they probably would be primaried,” Trump said.

Trump indicated he will be suing another media outlet over a fake poll released ahead of the election.  Watch:

Trump said the Golden Age of America has begun.

Prominent X user “Johnny MAGA” commented, “This Trump press conference is one of the greatest performances I’ve seen from him. He’s nailing every single answer. Not one reporter has even laid a glove on him.”

“Trump just wrapped up an hour and fifteen minute press conference where he announced a $100B investment in the U.S. economy and answered questions on everything from NJ drones, to Luigi Mangione, to the TikTok ban, to tariffs, to the situation in Syria. Absolute masterclass. The best ever, Johnny added.
